After 20 years in financial services, I’m witnessing AI reshape the profession in real time. With a front row seat to the shift, I’ll be sharing what actually works from the inside.
This is a little uncomfortable to write.
I am not a natural self-promoter. I have always preferred building quietly, letting the work speak, staying focused on what is in front of me rather than broadcasting it. Writing publicly does not come naturally and it requires me to be more vulnerable and visible than I am instinctively wired to be. But I am going to do it anyway.
You are going to hear more from me in 2026.
The reason is simple. The financial services industry I have worked in for close to 20 years is changing in real time, and the pace of change is accelerating. AI is not a future idea anymore, it’s playing our right now in front out our very eyes. It is actively reshaping how work is done, how decisions are made, the role of people and how value is created across professional services.
I have a front row seat to this shift.
I am in the privileged position of being close to the work. As Founder and CEO of Visory, AI is central to our mission of automating the financial back-office, turning business data into clear insights and confident decisions for growing SMBs.
In my role, I’m seeing what actually changes when AI moves from theory to production. I see where it genuinely creates leverage, and where it quietly introduces risk. I also see the negative impacts AI is having across the broader financial services industry. There are times it over promises and under delivers, where people expect it to do more than it is capable of currently.
And because of that proximity, I feel an obligation to share what I am learning and what what actually works when theory meets reality.
I also see a lot of uncertainty and fear in our profession. People wondering what their role looks like in five years. Leaders unsure how to modernise without breaking quality, trust, or culture. Teams caught between pressure to move faster and responsibility to get things right.
Despite this, I'm fundamentally optimistic.
I believe this shift will allow people to do some of their best work yet. It will change roles, not erase them. It will elevate judgement, creativity, and leadership rather than eliminate them. But that outcome is not something we should expect to automatically happen. It has to be designed for, navigated carefully, and led with intent.
That is where I think I can help.
So this year, I am going to write more. I am going to share what I am seeing at the coalface, in the hope it helps others navigate the human and AI relationship with more clarity, confidence, and realism.
What I will be writing about in 2026
My writing this year will focus largely on my role at Visory, guiding the business through the next wave of AI opportunity and disruption. It will focus on what it actually takes to build and lead modern businesses in an era of AI and constant change.
How services businesses really scale when AI collides with growth, quality, margin, and people.
Designing AI-driven workflows and operating models, not just bolting an AI chatbot onto your pre-existing app.
Leading teams while the ground is moving. Turning complexity into clarity inside organisations so they can capture the benefits.
Building in public while sharing the learnings in real time.
